What kind of work can I do for you?
I enjoy working on concepts, creative copy and art direction for advertising, branding and promotional campaigns. I regularly research and write blog articles, news stories and features.
What’s my backstory?
I’ve been writing professionally for the past ten years. I’ve worked on advertising campaigns for global brands such as HP, Lloyds Bank, Nike and Louis Vuitton alongside a range of smaller businesses. I have a HND in Journalism, a 1st class degree in Advertising, and a Best New Blood award from D&AD.
When I’m not at work
Outside of work you’ll find me enjoying time with my wife Steph and son Callum, or happily singing away at Anfield, watching my other great love Liverpool FC.

Frequently Asked Questions
You don’t want to pay over the odds for copywriting services, and you want fair value for money. I understand that and aim to offer a fair and open approach to pricing. I am able to work on either a fixed cost or hourly rate basis, whatever suits your project best. My rates are reviewed and fixed every 6 months. I reference various professional writers associations for their recommended industry rates to ensure I stay competitive.
If you need a competent writer with proven creative skills, a degree level education, a few industry accolades and a decade of commercial writing experience, I could be the right person for you. I’m also friendly, professional and use project management skills to make working together a pleasure.
Yes, probably. Unless your business is incredibly niche. Like jumpers for cats niche. Otherwise, I have experience of creating ideas and writing for most business sectors including the automotive, construction, insurance, financial services, FMCG, B2B, sports, aviation, luxury goods, travel, technology and software industries.
The skill of a copywriter is to understand the process of communication, conversations, selling and how to best get across the appeal of your products and services to buyers.
Sometimes previous similar writing experience can be useful, but most often it’s not that relevant. You most probably don’t need to hire someone who is an expert in your industry, it’s more likely you need someone who understands tone of voice, messaging hierarchy, optimisation, conversion techniques and someone who can bring a creative and objective eye to your project.
Part of the fun of writing is researching and learning about new things and finding the best way to communicate them to the people you want to reach.
I’ve worked on everything from editorial content, TV and press campaigns, to Direct Mail brochures, product descriptions, product packaging copy, and branding solutions such as tone of voice development, company and product name development and taglines.
I also keep up to date with all the latest white hat SEO news and best practices and factor them into my writing work when needed.
Yes. I realise indemnity insurance is a requirement to work with some businesses, and I hold a policy with a reputable UK insurer.
